Final Expenses

   As a society, we're conditioned to feel a bit uncomfortable with the subject of
death. However, for generations, there is one aspect of the end-of-life scenario that
has been a source of pride and reassurance for countless families: holding a funeral
insurance policy.
   Burial insurance is very inexpensive compared to mainstream life insurance, but
the relief and measure of ease a final expenses policy provides surviving family
members and loved ones is invaluable. Hannah Navi, a freelance journalist who
often reports on
senior-centric issues such as Medicare Supplemental Insurance and
Burial Insurance, cautions that there are many types of funeral insurance options;
the policy applicant must read all the fine print and clearly understand the benefits
being offered. A good source of information on
funeral insurance and the firms
writing final expense policies can be your state or county department of consumer
affairs or department of insurance.
