QUESTION: Is there a required minimum time for an appointment?

ANSWER: No. Although many services impose a three-hour minimum, CARE
GIVERS NW offers 1 and 2 hour appointments! It is really amazing how
much we can do for our clients in even one or two hours. Call us for more
information!
QUESTION: I am nervous about bringing someone new into my father's
home. Is CARE GIVERS NW insured?

ANSWER: CARE GIVERS NW is licensed with the State of Oregon, bonded
and insured. Additionally, all our caregivers are employees of CARE
GIVERS NW,
not independent contractors. We are very sensitive
regarding the comfort of our clients, and are very careful to make sure
that our visits are helpful, caring and non-invasive. We go to great
lengths to make sure an assigned caregiver is compatible with our client
and their visits are pleasurable (and productive) ones!
QUESTION: We had an in-home service come to take care of my mother
after her cataract surgery a few years ago. The original agreement was for
a set hourly fee, but when we received the invoice, there were many
extra charges for meal prep, dish washing and laundry activities! Does
CARE GIVERS NW impose extra charges?

ANSWER: No. CARE GIVERS NW has a flat-rate, all-inclusive fee structure.
There are never any surprise add-on's for traditional household chores.
We are there to provide care for our clients, not sticker shock!
QUESTION: We have looked over your website and have seen the term
"respite care" several times? Is this a special kind of service?

ANSWER: Respite care is a service we provide designed to give family
caregivers a much-needed break. CARE GIVERS NW provides a
professional caregiver to come in and take over the care of your loved
one for a period of time, allowing the family caregiver(s) to attend to
personal errands or just take some time out to enjoy themselves. (Go to a
movie, attend church services, visit with friends or other family members,
etc.) Respite care breaks are so important for a caregiver's health;
afterall, if the continual stress of being a family caregiver makes you sick,
who will take care of your loved one?
QUESTION: Okay, we understand "respite care" now. We take care of my
mother in our own home, but we're thinking about taking a seven-day
cruise vacation and it would be impossible to bring her along. Can you
provide reliable 24/7 care for her while we're away?

ANSWER: Absolutely! CARE GIVERS NW can arrange for a caregiver to
come in your home while you're away on vacation and provide
outstanding care for your mother, giving you the peace-of-mind you need
to really enjoy yourselves and recharge your batteries! We can send you
regular reports on your mother's well-being, take care of the household
chores and make sure your mother is totally comfortable during your time
away from the house. Call us today for an assessment!
QUESTION: We have two small children who can't be left alone when
we're both out of the house. I see that you have a lot of experience with
elderly clients - do you offer in-home care for children?

ANSWER: Yes! While the majority of our clients are seniors, CARE GIVERS
NW offers caregiving services for everyone: seniors, adults with special
needs and children. Many of our clients are parents who would like a
highly-qualified caregiver for their children while they're away from the
house. Please call us today for more information!
QUESTION: How much does CARE GIVERS NW charge for their services?

ANSWER: The cost of service can vary depending on length of stay and
the complexity of the assignment. CARE GIVERS NW does not impose
extra charges for household chores and other ancillary duties; there are
never any surprises about the cost of service! Please contact us today
for a free, no-obligation assessment in your own home and we'll give you
an exact quote on your service needs.
QUESTION: My father isn't in the greatest of health. How qualified are
your caregivers for taking care of a person with illnesses?

ANSWER: CARE GIVERS NW is a non-medical care provider. Our
caregivers are highly-trained professionals who regularly receive
continuing education on subjects such as safety and body mechanics,
nutrition and meal-planning, safe transfers and positioning, needs of
memory-impaired clients, infection control, etc. We make sure your
loved ones are safe, comfortable and happy. One of our duties is to
offer medication reminders for our clients, but the scope of our services
is confined to non-medical care.

QUESTION: My aunt has been in an assisted-living facility for a couple of years and gets along fairly well. Lately she's been having a hard time getting ready for the breakfast service in the morning and sometimes misses the meal service altogether! Your website says you're an "in-home care specialist". Can you offer my aunt some help at the assisted-living location?

ANSWER: The ALF your aunt resides at is her home. Of course we can provide care for your loved one wherever she resides! CARE GIVERS NW actually offers a Custom Concierge Care™ service which is specifically tailored to the unique needs of each ALF resident. In your aunt's case, we would come in for a little while in the morning, help choose her clothing, assist with morning grooming and provide escort to the breakfast area. While at breakfast, we'd go back to the apartment and tidy up, take out garbage, make the bed, etc. We're certain your aunt would be thrilled with her new "assistant" and she would never have to miss breakfasting with her friends again!

CARE GIVERS NW is a bonded and insured in-home care service licensed by the State of Oregon. We serve Multnomah and Clackamas counties.
